COIN SCANNER EXPERIMENTS
conducted by me, with my scanner.

is a 3-D image of a drachm of Antiochos VII. Look past it
and let the images separate. Try to re-merge the images
so you see three, rather than two. If you succeed, the
middle image should be three-dimensional. I did this by driving two nails through a thin board to make a sort of teeter totter. I taped half of a coin flip underneath, between the two nails. I then slipped the coin into the flip, scanned it with the right side of the "teeter totter" pushed down, then scanned it again with the left side pushed down. Cutting and pasting the two images together side by side yielded the image you see above. |
